St Vincent St Glasgow. This area has a profusion of gourmet burger restaurants but we chose this one because it's stylish inside and has the best choice of vegetarian burgers. I wasn't blown away but it was very nice and the fresh cut chips were good.
A mozzarella and sun-dried tomato panini at a roadside café near Killin, Scotland. Such a nice setting in the trees and serving the best coffee of the trip, but this panini tasted a bit nasty and greasy. What a shame.
A little roadside café (The Joinery Coffee Shop) on our way back from a trip to Glamis from Glasgow. The 'custard cream' (a very dry biscuity concoction) wasn't very pleasant but the iced coffee mocha frappé was delicious.
Can't remember which café this was in, but they got extra marks for managing to make me a skinny capuccino instead of just pretending semi-skimmed milk was the same thing as skimmed. I was there with Ian.
Dog friendly cafés rather thin on the ground in Kirkby Stephen so we had a pub lunch. This was mainly mushrooms, which when I last looked were not a staple of the Mediterranean diet... Food and atmosphere will not be winning any awards here.
