1955 Austin A40 Cambridge
Like the 1.5 litre A50, the new A40 was introduced in 1954 to replace the Somerset. The A40 had a 1.2-litre 42 bhp B-Series engine based on the one used in the Somerset (although sharing no parts). The A40 Cambridge was intended to be available in both two-door and four-door saloon variants, but the two-door version didn't reach production. Only 30,666 were produced until 1957 when the model was dropped from the Cambridge range.
